Due to Covid-19 spread there have been 7.861.075 million cases worldwide and more than 432,204 deaths according to Worldometters datas.

Policy says people entering  UK must isolate for 14 days. UK economy had a shrink record 20.4% in April due to lockdown of Covid-19. UK airlines groups EasyJet, British Airways and Rynair described policy as ‘’severe’’.

The major airline groups started to struggle in this direction because the passenger demands fell down dramatagicaly.

Cathay pacific fleet size is around  150 planes. Company has around 34.200 employees (March 2020). They have received 5 billion dollar state-backed bailout with selling 20% of its shares to the goverment.



As known Emirates is one of the biggest airlines in the world. Emirates fleet size is around 257 planes. Company has around 59.519 employees (March 2020). Due to pandemic these airline has been affected very negatively. They have made some arrangements and changes within themselves.

Emirates lays off thousands of pilots, cabin crew and company still plans to make more job cuts. Due to spread workforce of 4.300 pilots, and nearly 22.000 cabin crew could shrink by almost a third from its pre-coronavirus levels.

Pilots reduction will be from 4.300 to 1.433, and cabin crew reduction will be 7.333.



Company outgoing president Tim Clarck has said that ‘’it will take around four years for the airlines to resume flaying to all of the international destinations it served before the pandemic.’’

IATA (International Air Transportation Association) updated its predictions for 2020. According to the report published recently, airlines worldwide are expected to lose a total of 84 billion USD in 2020.

 
Year 2020 is the ‘‘worst’’ year on record for Air Tranportation.
Due to Coronavirus, world economy impact negatively in 2020. According to World Bank datas  Global GDP (Gross Domectic Protuct) will shrink  by 5.2 per cent in 2020.

The effects of Covid-19 still continues. Mortality rates still on the rise all over the world.

Formula 1 2020: Japan, Singapore and Azerbaijan races cancelled due to Covid-19 spread.
At the end when we look at the effects of Covid 19 has hit air transportation like all the other sectors in negative way as shown in the figures. The year of 2020 has been a year of distruction and will require a struggle for the sectors to exist again with the flutter.
